Raising Altars

Written by Colin Shaw

17 October 2015

Hi again.

This week has been special. We have been blessed to have some South American Christians in our city worshipping and praying for our nation continuously for five days. They are part of an around the world worship prayer initiative that is taking place as I write this blog. About 100,000 Christians from South America are currently in 180 nations for 5 days (Oct. 15-19) of non-stop worship and prayer, to be followed up with 5 days of preaching, teaching and ministry. This continuous worship-prayer-ministry event that began here in N.Z. is now in full swing around the globe.

Meeting and praying with these people has been very encouraging. They have teamed up so well despite the fact they are from different South American nations and denominations. Their unique style of heart-felt worship and prayer has been very uplifting. The name given to this whole event, ‘Raising Altars to Establish His Throne’, helps describe the goal. (It also describes the vision of Christians meeting in N.Z. towns and cities to worship and pray.)

What a blessing. So many South Americans standing, worshipping and praying with other Christians far and wide, identifying with their desire to see His throne established, His kingdom come in their nations. Thank you South America for your gift to the nations of the world!

Worship is central. Worship is at the heart of God’s plan and purpose. He is enthroned in our worship. As we worship strongholds are broken. As we worship He takes His rightful place in our midst, Lord of all.

‘May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.’ Psalm 67:1-5. .....….‘All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name’. Psalm 86:9.

Until next time

God bless
